Previously, Free Zone is only available in the Philippines and South Africa.

Although free, Free Zone users can not open all the sites. Users can only access three popular Google services, namely Google Plus, Gmail, and Google Search.

By using Google Search, Google's search engine service, users can search for desired content for free. Interestingly, users are allowed to open a link search results for free.

Users can open and read electronic messages in Gmail, e-mail service owned by Google, for free. However, to open a file attachment that usually exist in an e-mail, users will be charged.

Users can also access social networking service Google Plus. Almost all of the features of Google Plus the PC version, such as adding friends in a circle of friends and comment, can be done through the service's Free Zone.
